The backbone of the service is the ability to receive the messages from the supply chain partners. These are fed into the Apollo system to provide a web based experience.  This approach minimises the time spent on setting up the software and the connections to the supply chain. And allows the publisher to get the maximum benefit of the information system with the minimum of investment and up front costs.

Features

Automatic inbound delivery processing: Delivery specifications arrive via internet messaging directly from the supplier. This ensures the system is updated and is able to processes the information without intervention from the production staff. Each delivery will be available to view as soon as it has been despatched from the warehouse.

Automatic invoice processing: Invoices arrive from the sales office via internet messaging providing automated reconciliation with the inbound deliveries and providing accurate pricing of paper stocks. Invoices are viewable using the reports containing a detailed breakdown. The cost prices are applied to the inbound inventory meaning that holdings and usages are accurately costed.


Inventory control:  Stocks are tracked at package level which provides a precise level of tracking. With mobile scanner integration, the warehouse can easily verify the correct paper is being used for every the production run.


Production and usage : Paper usage across each publication is tracked and costs calculated across titles, production runs and paper stocks. Broken down by, financial month, production run, usage type (print, wastage and make ready) and title or publishing reference.

Usage waste monitoring: Paper stock waste levels are kept up to date during the usage information capture. Waste levels and percentages can be monitored and analysed.  Residual packaging can be monitored and tracked, with details being made available for environmental reporting purposes.

Inventory damage monitoring: Damages to paper stock can be monitored and analysed. All damages can be recorded, with all weight recorded - this enables the precise costing of any damages to be established.


Storage rental: Apollo can calculate rentals due on inventory in  warehouse facilities. This can be either be done when the paper is stored at 2nd and 3rd party warehouses, so that self billing can be employed, giving the publisher control and piece of mind that costs and quantities are under their control.


Reporting:

Aged stock analysis: Paper stocks sitting in the warehouse can be analysed for dwell time, and the financial cost of that realised with simple reports. 

Usage: All usage of the paper stocks is recorded using a simple input form (using the printer Web Portal) or via a mobile scanner device on the shop floor. The data is collected and is broken down across several dimensions. accounting period, title, usage category, production run reference

Inventory listsAll inventory items can be view on reports, with both the purchase order reference and the manufactures reference. These reports can also show a valuation based on the purchase cost. Historical reports are also available to see what the stock holding was at a particular moment in time.

Damage reportingItems in stock which has sustained handling or transport damage can be marked and any material loss registered. Weight and meterage is updated and a new wrapper label can be generated for later scanning.
